Helping celebrate nearly a half century of adrenalin-elevating history, the 2016 Nissan 45th Anniversary Gold Edition joins the returning members of the legendary GT-R lineup on sale in the U.S.  Spun from the GT-R Premium model, the cosmetically tweaked Gold Edition is finished in the same "Silica Brass" that adorned the 2001 Skyline GT-R M-Spec JDM (Japan domestic market) model. The latest GT-R also features a gold-tone VIN plate and commemorative plaque on the center console. Nissan says that fewer than 30 of these vehicles will come to the U.S.

The remainder of the 2016 GT-R lineup returns with few revisions. Both the GT-R Premium and Black Edition see output of their hand-built 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engines rise from 545 to 550 horsepower while the Premium model also gets new 20-spoke RAYS forged aluminum wheels. No changes at all are on tap for the 600-horse GT-R Nismo variant.  Prices for all 2016 Nissan GT-R models remains at 2015 levels, with the Premium opening at $103,365, the Black Edition starting at $113,105 and the Nismo at $151,585. The 45th Anniversary Gold Edition technically opens at $104,363, but finding one at that price is likely to be easier said than done.
