2016 Hyundai Elantra adds Value Edition

Intent on adding appeal to its popular compact 4-door, Hyundai has revised packaging and pricing across most of the 2016 Hyundai Elantra Sedan line while adding a new Value Edition. Arriving this month, the Value Edition is slotted between the Elantra SE and Sport models with the Elantra Limited remaining the range-topper.

The only carryover variant, the 2016 Elantra SE Sedan, maintains its 2015 starting sticker of $18,075 with a 6-speed manual transmission and $19,075 with a 6-speed Shiftronic automatic. The Elantra Sport loses its leather upholstery and moves the power moonroof from standard to optional equipment but reduces its base price by $1,350 to $21,075 – or $22,075 with the autoshifter. While the auto-only Elantra Limited keeps its current $22,525 sticker, it gains $600 worth of new equipment in the form of a dual-zone auto climate control system and Proximity Key with push-button starting.

Building on content included in the $900 Popular Equipment Package available only on the Elantra SE with Shiftronic, the new 2016 Elantra Value Edition richens that mix with heated front seats, a power tilt-and-slide sunroof, tilt/telescoping steering column, Proximity Key/push-button start and 16-inch alloy wheels. The $550 package also includes side-mirror turn signals, leather-wrapped steering wheel/shift knob, aluminum sill plates and an extra exterior brightwork. That modest bump brings the bottom line on this impressively appointed value model to $20,525.
