Not to be outdone by its 2016 Chevy Silverado counterpart, the 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 and its upscale Denali stablemate also will be getting a new look and added features for the new model year. While full details wait until these full-size pickups go on sale during the fourth quarter, GMC has provided an early peek at what lies ahead.

Visually, the 2016 Sierra gains new fascia treatments for each trim level that include restyled grilles and bumpers, LED headlamps and fog lamps as well as new C-shaped LED daytime running lights and taillamps. As previously announced, we’ll also see an upgrade to GMC’s IntelliLink infotainment system that will add Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Although yet to be confirmed, it’s also a pretty safe bet that, like the 2016 Silverado, the new Sierra and Sierra Denali 1500 will benefit from expanded use of GM’s 8-speed automatic that’s currently only available. with the 6.2-liter V8.
