2015 Scion FR-S gets handling tweaks and modest price drop

Heading to showrooms this summer, the 2015 Scion FR-S will benefit from a number of functional chassis upgrades as well as mild aero modifications for the new season. Hardware revamps to the front-engine/rear-drive sports coupe include a more rigid front suspension structure coupled with retuned rear shocks that make the chassis even more "communicative" while further reducing body roll.

Visual changes on the 2015 FR-S are subtle to say the least. A new and sleeker shark-fin antenna replaces the current mast-type unit and now-larger-diameter dual exhaust tips are more flush fit with the lower rear fascia. On the silver side of the exterior color palette, Steel replaces Argento while pearl-white Halo – a $395 option – takes the place of Whiteout. Inside, the dash panel features a new carbon-look insert and the key shape has been changed while new auto-on/off headlamps join the standard feature set. 

Pricing for the 2015 Scion FR-S also has been received an equally understated but welcome revamp. The FR-S with 6-speed manual will start at $25,655 or $355 less than this year’s model while the 6-speed automatic version with Dynamic Rev Management circuitry is set to open at $26,755 which represents a $555 cut from its current counterpart.

Scion also released basic price info on the 2015 tC Coupe, which replaces Classic Silver and Super White exterior colors with new Cosmic Gray and Blizzard Pearl finishes and gains steering-wheel-mounted paddles on autoshifted models. Sticker figures dip even more favorably here. The 2015 Scion tC with 6-speed manual opensat $19,965 and the tC with 6-speed automatic rings in at $21,115 — cuts of $755 and $605, respectively.
