Nissan wowed the crowd today at its annual ZDAYS gathering in Fontana Dam, North Carolina, with the surprise world debut of its 2015 Nissan 370Z Nismo. The latest version of the automaker’s hottest Z-car complements an even bolder appearance with suspension tweaks, a 7-speed automatic transmission option and a new 370Z Nismo Tech model.

Visual enhancements on the 2015 Nismo-spec 370Z commence with a number of GT-R inspired body bits that help raise the car’s aggressor index while further optimizing front/rear high-speed downforce. The new nose treatment brings a deeper fascia profile with integrated chin spoiler set off with LED Hyper Daytime Running Lights, black headlight bezels and a Nismo badge while the tail features a reshaped and downsized decklid spoiler. Rounding out the remix are super-lightweight 19-inch RAYS alloy wheels with a new design that swaps the previous silver surface for a charcoal-gray machine finish plus signature red Nismo accent striping around the car’s lower perimeter and on its mirror housings. Four color choices will be available: Solid Red, Magnetic Black, Brilliant Silver and Pearl White.

In addition to various carryover Nismo interior touches, the 2015 370Z Nismo benefits from redesigned sport seats. Co-developed with Recaro, these torso-hugging Nismo-exclusive buckets done in black-and-red leather-appointed with Alcantara accents offer even better comfort and support. Stepping up to the new-for-2015 Nismo Tech model further enhances the drive-time experience by adding a navigation system with 7.0-inch VGA touch-sensitive display, RearView Monitor, Bose premium audio, SiriusXM Satellite Radio (subscription required), Bluetooth streaming audio, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and HomeLink.

While the Nismo-tweaked 350-horsepower/3.7-liter V6 engine carries over unchanged for 2015, buyers of this ultra 370Z will now be able to choose between the existing 6-speed manual or a new 7-speed automatic that features Downshift Rev Matching (DRM), Adaptive Shift Control and steering wheel mounted shift paddles. The comprehensively upgraded suspension has been retuned to deliver greater ride refinement and sharper handling response. As with the current car, the package also includes a Nismo-branded front strut tower brace, viscous limited-slip differential, Nissan Sport Brakes with red calipers and a deeper axle ratio for quicker acceleration.

"NISMO is the heart and soul of Nissan performance, both for the track and on the street, so it’s fitting that we are showing the dramatic new 2015 370Z NISMO for the first time at a gathering of our most loyal and enthusiast owners," said Nissan Chief Planning Officer and Executive Vice President Andy Palmer at the reveal. "The new 370Z NISMO joins the recently introduced Nissan GT-R NISMO and Nissan JUKE NISMO RS, giving performance fans a range of fresh, factory tuned NISMO models to enjoy." Pricing for the 2015 Nissan 370Z Nismo will be announced closer to its official on-sale date.
