Kia will broaden the distribution of its 2015 Soul EV beyond California over the next three months. Georgia will be the first of five states where the 2015 Kia Soul EV will now be sold, with Hawaii, Oregon, Texas and Washington to follow. The automaker also confirmed it will add more states in 2016, but hasn’t said which ones.

"From the inception of the Soul EV program, Kia’s sales strategy has been progressive and pragmatic," said Orth Hedrick, vice president of product planning, Kia Motors America.  "With the level of demand and supporting infrastructure in the state, California was a natural place to start, but we’ve been carefully studying other markets. Between consumer reaction to the Soul EV and growing infrastructure programs in these five states, this is a logical – and exciting – next step in our rollout plan."

The 2015 Kia Soul EV is available in two trim levels, both powered by a 109-horsepower motor that also cranks out 210 lb-ft of torque. Energized by a 27kWh lithium-ion-polymer battery pack, this super-green front driver has an EPA estimated range rating of 93 miles and MPGe marks of 92 miles on the highway and 120 miles in the city. Pricing for the Kia Soul EV Base starts at $34,525 while the Soul EV Plus is $36,525, not including a $7,500 federal tax credit or any other state or local incentives.
