This slightly sinister but very well-equipped variation of the 2015 GMC Canyon pickup introduces a new trim level called the Nightfall Edition. Due to arrive in showrooms during the second quarter and finished in Onyx Black, the noir-themed Nightfall is based on a Canyon SLE Crew Cab and will be available in either rear-drive or 4-wheel drive. Reinforcing its largely monochrome look is a unique black grille, black mirror caps and assist steps, 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels with Dark Argent inserts and polished aluminum exhaust tips.

Beyond its bad-boy appearance, the 2015 GMC Canyon Nightfall Edition includes a load of highly desirable comfort/convenience items. Highlighting the list a factory spray-in bedliner, automatic climate control, rear-view camera, soft-touch dash with aluminum trim, a tilt/telescoping steering column, driver-info display, keyless remote entry/starting, auto-dimming interior mirror and a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel. On the connectivity front, the Nightfall Edition also comes with an 8.0-inch Color Touch radio with GMC IntelliLink, OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot and SiriusXM Satellite radio – the latter two items on a 3-month free trial basis – plus three USB ports, two with charging capability. All 4WD models will come with an automatic locking rear differential.

While GMC has yet to reveal any powertrain details, the 2015 GMC Nightfall Edition is expected to be available with the Canyon’s standard 200-horsepower/2.5-liter 4-cylinder or optional 306-horse V6. Pricing info won’t be released until closer to the Nightfall Edition’s on-sale date, but Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing promises that its heady roster of upscale goodies will represent "a greater value than ordering the features separately."
