Well-heeled fans of the awesome Aston Martin V12 Vantage S who prefer an open-air alternative will find their wishes granted this fall when the new 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster storms onto the scene. Packing all of the go-fast goodies found on its coupe counterpart, Aston says this new 2-seater is "the most potent, fastest and fastest-accelerating series-production roadster" it’s ever built.

The new V12 Vantage S Roadster is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.0-liter AM28 12-cylinder engine. As in the Coupe, it makes 565 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of peak torque which is shipped to the rear wheels via AM’s SportShift III 7-speed automated manual transmission. That combo sends the Vantage S Roadster from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 201 mph. A lightweight exhaust system derived from Aston’s One-77 supercar helps trim mass while adding a unique sonic signature.
Chassis upgrades
To ensure best use of its added output, the V12 Vantage S Roadster also benefits from a chassis makeover. Functional highlights include a quick-ratio ZF power steering system, three-stage adaptive damping, a tri-mode stability control and carbon-ceramic disc brakes that complement its two-stage ABS system.

Save for a fully-lined/power-activated soft top, the V12 Vantage S Roadster features all of the same bolder body bits found on the 12-cylinder S Coupe. Key elements include a distinctive carbon fiber grille inspired by the CC100 Speedster Concept, louvered hood and available 10-spoke forged lightweight alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin gets similar high-performance treatment which includes an Interior Carbon Pack option to complement its standard Sport seats or available carbon fiber racing shells. Pricing for the 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster won’t be released until closer to its on-sale date here. But it appears likely to open in excess of $200,000.
