2014 Ram Heavy Duty Black Package unveiled

Leveraging the popular Black Express trim option on the Ram 1500 line, Chrysler Group’s truck division has revealed a similar noir-themed package for its 2500/3500 model. Bowing at the Atlanta International Auto Show, the 2014 Ram Heavy Duty Black Package also matches its sinister appearance with several cool tech touches. The option will be available on Ram 2500 and 3500 SRW (Single Rear Wheel) Crew Cab/Mega Cab bodies in Big Horn/Lone Star/Laramie models with rear- or 4-wheel drive.

Visually, the max-blackout appearance of this new Ram Heavy Duty variant encompasses the basic bodywork, grille and grille surrounds, bumpers, nose and tail logos and 20-inch aluminum wheels. Save for Cummins identification on models fitted with that optional turbodiesel engine, all exterior badges also have been removed.

The list of functional upgrades on the new Ram HD Black Package includes premium bi-functional halogen projector headlamps with black bezels, unique park/turn/position lamps with 15 amber LEDs and three additional amber LEDs for the side marker plus black-finished LED taillamps/rear marker lamps. A Parkview rear backup camera and Parksense rear-park-assist sensors are part of this back-to-black mix.

Pricing for the new 2014 Ram Heavy Duty Black begins at $43,335. Orders are currently being taken with delivery set to commence shortly.
