Turning a popular dream machine first presented at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show into a limited-run reality for U.S. buyers, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Dragon Edition is set to roll into dealerships later this fall. Based on a 4-door Wrangler Sahara Unlimited model, the Dragon Edition package brings together a host of tastefully understated exterior/interior cosmetic enhancements that endow this rugged go-anywhere Jeep with a more sophisticated persona conceptually linked to an aspirational Chinese cultural icon that symbolizes strength and power. "When we introduced the Jeep Wrangler Dragon Design Concept last year, we received tremendously positive feedback," noted Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "Our loyal Jeep enthusiasts asked us to build this unique Wrangler, and we are delivering exactly what they’ve asked for."

Finished in Gloss Black and fitted with a matching 3-piece hardtop, the Jeep Wrangler Dragon Edition sports a subtle Dark Charcoal dragon decal that starts on its hood and runs all the way back to the rear door on the driver’s side. Gloss Black appliqués on the front and rear bumpers are complemented by Bronze Satin Gloss detailing on the inside of the grille slats, headlamp surrounds and badges while its unique 18-inch alloy wheels are rendered in matte black with a high-gloss Satin Bronze trim surround. Completing the distinctive exterior treatment are a Mopar fuel-filler door and a black spare tire cover with a second dragon decal.

Inside, the Wrangler Dragon Edition reprises the basic exterior theme and color scheme, starting with heated buckets that feature Black Nappa leather seating surfaces set off by Satin Bronze Dragon Scale trim on their outer bolsters as well as on the center console armrest and steering wheel. Also in the mix are a high-gloss black instrument bezel and door handles, Satin Bronze accent trim, bronze-bound floor mats and a custom dragon graphic overlay in the gauge cluster. Pricing for the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Dragon Edition will start at $37,090.

As for the rest of the Wrangler lineup, 2014 ushers in several new exterior colors and clear in place of  amber parking lamp lenses. The expanded option roster now includes a Trail Kit for all models while the Wrangler Sport will offer a 6.5-inch Uconnect touchscreen radio with SiriusXM as well as a 32-inch Tire and Wheel Group with semi-gloss black 17-inch Rubicon aluminum wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich KM LT255/75R17 off-road tires.
