Still no hard facts at this point, but the first detail image of the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Impala that will debut in New York hint at a car that appears to gain a good deal more style and character than the current model. If the flowing semi-fastback roofline and intriguing C-pillar treatment are any indicator of what we can expect in the rest of the package, the 10th generation of Chevy’s full-size four-door sedan seems headed back to earlier halcyon days when it was a genuine star of the division’s lineup.
Among the other great expectations we’re led to believe also will help define the personality of the front-drive 2014 Impala are seriously upgraded interior trappings and technologies, more fuel-efficient powertrain combinations and first-rate underpinnings based on GM’s Epsilon II platform architecture that it will share with the upcoming Cadillac XTS. For now, all Chris Perry, vice president of Global Chevrolet Marketing, will confirm is that this new Impala will "balance the desire for distinction with engaging driving dynamics."
