Acura has a lot riding on the immanent launch of its new flagship sedan and part of its Detroit Auto Show presentation was dedicated to outlining what the 2014 Acura RLX will cost and how potential owners can get an early hands-on experience with this premium sedan before it goes on sale in mid-March.

As for hard numbers, the 2014 RLX will be offered in five mono-spec variants, with the base RLX opening at $49,345. The remaining hierarchy includes the RLX with Navigation ($51,845), the anticipated volume-leader RLX with Technology Package ($55,345), the RLX with Krell Audio Package ($57,845) and the range-topping RLX with Advance Package that will command $61,345. While confirming that an RLX Hybrid model will be joining the lineup at a later date, there was no mention of potential pricing on that future member of the family.

To give would-be buyers a chance to experience this new Acura and its full range of new technologies, the automaker will begin a "Destination RLX" client experience program in February. The unconventional pre-marketing effort will put a pair of RLX demonstrator models in the hands of every Acura dealer in the country.
