Adding a bit more style, a tad more power and an even higher level of all-weather confidence into the basic formula, the 2013 Dodge Charger AWD Sport will be rolling into dealer showrooms during the first quarter of next year. Available on select Charger SXT and R/T models, the Sport-spec package content reflect a 40 percent savings over adding the elements on an individual basis.
On the cosmetic front, the Charger AWD Sport contingent nets a unique Gloss Black split-crosshair grille and surround, 19-inch polished-aluminum wheels with Gloss Black pockets wrapped in all-season performance tires and a body-colored rear spoiler. Inside, highly supportive sport seats trimmed in black cloth (SXT and R/T) or premium black or red heated Nappa leather (SXT Plus and R/T Plus) adds charm to the mix while and 11-speaker/12-channel Beats Audio premium sound system cranks up the volume. Opting for the Sport package on Charger AWD models also brings the first application of steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters and sport mode transmission calibration in a Charger AWD.
While the 370-horsepower/5.7-litre Hemi V8 in the R/T and R/T Plus variants is unchanged, the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 fitted to the Charger AWD SXT and SXT Plus gets its output bumped from 292 to 300 horses courtesy of a new cold-air intake system and a sport-tuned exhaust. Even with the extra muscle, the car still retains its 17/28 mpg city/highway EPA numbers.
Pricing for the 2013 Dodge Charger SXT AWD Sport will start at $33,685 while the Charger SXT Plus AWD Sport is set to open at $35,685. On the V8 side of the ledger, the 2013 Dodge Charger R/T AWD Sport begins at $34,685 with the Charger R/T Plus AWD Sport commencing at $36,685.
