Priced from $22,345, the new SE V6 is fitted with a potent 283-horsepower/3.6-liter Pentastar V6 in place of the 173-horsepower/2.4-liter four-cylinder engine used in the base Avenger and Avenger SXT. Backed by a six-speed automatic transmission, it gives this newest member of the family a serious bump in quickness while still providing it with a 29-mpg highway EPA rating, best in class for a V6-powered mid-size four-door.
Other nice touches included in the 2013 Dodge Avenger SE V6’s standard-equipment roster include 18-inch aluminum wheels, dual exhaust outlets with polished finishers and a body-color rear spoiler. Dodge hopes the new SE V6 model will help further leverage the car’s already strong 2012 start. So far this year Avenger sales have risen by 112 percent.
