Harkening back to its military roots, the new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition has just arrived in showrooms across the country, designed to serve as a mobile tribute to members of the U.S. armed forces. Based on the best-selling Wrangler Sport model, this new addition is available in two-door Wrangler or four-door Wrangler Unlimited iterations an comes in three colors: Deep Cherry Red, Bright White, and True Blue – a new addition to the Wrangler palette that is exclusive to the Freedom Edition for 2012 – and packs a 285-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 backed by a new 5-speed automatic transmission
Exterior modification that set the Freedom Edition apart from other Wrangler models include Mineral Gray-painted 17-inch alloy wheels culled from the Wrangler Rubicon, Mineral Gray-painted grille and front and rear bumper inserts, body-color wheel arches and side steps, black sidesteps and tail lamp guards, a Mopar fuel fill door, a Sunrider soft top with deep-tint rear windows and unique "Oscar Mike" – Mil-speak for "On the Move" — star-in-circle fender badges and decals on the hood and rear quarter panels.
Inside, the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition sports black seats wrapped in rugged "tectonic" fabric, a silver-stitched "Oscar Mike" logo on the seat backs, French Silver accent stitching on the steering wheel, doors, seats and front arm rest, and "Quick Silver" accents on the front passenger grab handle, door pulls and dash vent rings, a chrome-spoked/leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel and Mopar Slush Mats. Priced from $29,065 for a 2-door model and $31,570 for a 4-door variant, the new Wrangler Freedom Edition also includes power windows and locks, remote keyless entry and UConnect voice command with the connectivity group.
