The first CODA Sedan intended for retail delivery rolled off the final assembly line earlier this week at the automaker’s facility in Benicia, California. Originally set to launch in late 2010, this five-passenger electric four-door will be offered in two variants, both fitted with an advanced lithium-iron Phosphate battery pack designed by CODA Automotive and a powerful 6.6kW on-board charger. With a 31kWh battery and a 125-mile maximum per-charge range, the base CODA Sedan starts at $37,250 before any rebates or credits. An upline model with a 36kWh battery and a 150-mile max range opens at $39,900, also before any applicable state or federal incentives.
Latest EV offering to be rated by the Environmental Protection Agency, the new 2012 CODA Sedan earns EPA MPGe (Miles Per Gallon equivalent) marks of 77 city, 68 highway and 73 combined while meriting an official 88-mile per-charge range stat. CODA says that fully recharging the battery pack will require only six hours on a dedicated 240V line.
