First Look: Infiniti G37 Convertible

Infiniti is about to aim another arrow at the BMW 3 Series, this one in the form of a G37 Convertible. Scheduled to go on sale in early 2009 after an official unveiling at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, the open-air G37 will feature a three-piece retractable hardtop (a soft top could hardly have been an option at this point) and a version of the 3.7-liter V6 that debuted in the G37 Coupe and will transform the G35 Sedan into the G37 Sedan for 2009. Other new-for-'09 features for the G lineup include the availability of all-wheel drive on the coupe, a seven-speed automatic transmission and the self-healing Scratch Shield paint introduced on the EX35 compact crossover. "Value" isn't a word that premium-brand marketers like to throw around -- or whisper, even -- but it's a big part of our respect for the Infiniti G Coupe and Sedan, and one of the reasons we're hoping for good things from the convertible.
