Positive Review

"2024 Cadillac Lyriq"

The car has standout exterior beauty and a high tech interior that may be a bit challenging to some. It is exceedingly quiet and the dual motor version is very responsive. The primary problems we experienced were generally related to the software and infotainment system which I regard as symptomatic of a new car still in its infancy. We also had problems with the radio reception which were cured with replacement parts. The only continuing disappointment we have involves the wireless phone charger: GM confirmed that it does not work with IPhone 14 and higher IOS versions. Keep in mind that GM has announced that they will no longer support Apple CarPlay and Android Play in Lyriq 2025 and later model years.

Critical Review

"Unreliable. We do not feel safe in this car."

The Lyriq is a beautiful vehicle that would be perfect in every way if it were safe or reliable. In our opinion, it is neither. Our Lyriq has the driver assist package, arrived to us with parts missing, and started having major failures (battery fault, trunk door stopped working, etc.) within 1000 miles of driving it. In the four months we have owned the car, it has spent over 30 days in service. The Lyriq's driver assist software is not reliable, and regularly fails or is out of service. Our Lyriq's adaptive cruise control and emergency collision avoidance have had two major failures that almost caused a crash each time they failed (NHSTA Safety Issue ID 11547432). After each failure, we took our Lyriq to be serviced, those failures were verified by Cadillac (in other words, we didn't make them up), and we were assured after each failure that our vehicle was safe. That has been false every time. After having our vehicle throw itself in park while we were driving because of a glitch, we are terrified of this happening again. When we purchased our vehicle, we were told that all of our software would be updating over the air. This is not true. Per the service technician at Michael Stead Cadillac in Walnut Creek, California, the Lyriq is not capable of over the air software updates for anything beyond the infotainment system, and all major updates that affect the safety and functionality of the car must be done by a dealership. These updates can take days to weeks to address, and impact major systems in the vehicle, including, but not limited to, emergency calling, emergency braking, and the driver assist system. Those features are unable to function without those updates, and the updates occur on almost a weekly basis. Our vehicle is essentially unusable. It would be our recommendation you do not purchase this car.

Great price but some disappointments.
Pros

Looks beautiful. Very comfortable. Love the cooling seats.

Cons

Takes too long to charge using any type of fast charger.

We bought our LURIQ in early march. The car drives great, love the noise isolation, which is way better than the Tesla Y which we traded in. The down side is that its only really worth it if you get the LYRIQ 3. The LYRIQ luxury1 and LYRIQ luxury 2 are very similar so I would just say stick to the 1 if you want to buy something nice but affordable. Fast charging takes anywhere from 45mins to 1-hour depending on how low your battery is and how much you want to charge it. Don't expect to get enough miles to continue on your long drive in less than 30 minutes. The Mileage range depends on the wheel drive that you get. All wheel drive gets the best millage range. The accent lights are very dim which is disappointing, and it is difficult to see the difference between some of the shades. We love the panoramic roof and the large trunk. With the LYRIQ luxury 3, the back seat passengers have their own temperature control and you get the rearview camera as part of the rare view mirror.

2024 lyriq

Dont waste your money. Car is extremely comfortable, sleek and everything you could want. Now let's talk about the mileage. Claims to have a 315 fully charged range. No way. Fully charged the vehicle. Had a 125 mile trip ahead of us. Round trip should have been more than sufficient. Barely made the first leg of the trip. Thank goodness we found a charge station. Charged up to 200 miles. 30 miles from home had to stop and charge again. If you want the car for local driving only you will be more than happy. One more thing, if you invest in the Tesla adapter be aware that not all charging stations work with the adapter. You will need to download the app and then locate which work with the adapter. None work on PA turnpike. Buyer beware.

Luxury, Silence, and Presence—Cadillac Lyriq Deliv

I absolutely love my 2025 Cadillac Lyriq Sport 2 AWD. It’s one of the smoothest, quietest cars I’ve ever driven, making every commute feel premium and refined. The exterior design turns heads, especially at night when the lighting signature stands out—there’s something special about the way people admire this car on the road. The luxury feel is undeniable, both inside and out. The interior is upscale, spacious, and well-thought-out, making every drive enjoyable. The best part? Charging at home makes owning an EV incredibly convenient—no gas station stops, just a seamless experience every day. If I had to ask for more, I’d love to see more frequent software updates from GM to enhance the in-car tech and user experience. Additionally, expanding public charging infrastructure would make long-distance travel even more convenient. Overall, this car delivers performance, comfort, and a true luxury EV experience. If you’re considering an electric SUV that looks and feels premium, the Lyriq should be at the top of your list.

A nicely equipped bouncy ev with rattles

A great benefit of Ubering on my work travels is that I get to experience a lot of different cars. I really like the quality of the Lyriq interior, but it rattles and is very bouncy in the back. I'd rather spend my money on an Ioniq5..way better value for money IMHO

Amazing vehicle
Pros

Styling, (inside & out), feature rich, rides & drives like a dream

Cons

Floor mats look kind of cheap compared to the cashmere mats in my XLR

I have a fully optioned 24 Lyriq Sport 3 Supercruise. As a certified "car nut", I have to say this car does everything not only "right", but better than expected. I've seen some "critical" review by some that just don't make sense to me. It's as though they felt that they had to write something negative just "because". It's NOT a Sports car. Don't expect it to handle like one! (It accelerates like one!) Yes there are faster, but WHO CARES?! It's an SUV! And it "SUV's" better than any I tested. It drives like a dream & the Supercruise (self driving) & adaptive cruise contol is incredible! I've also managed to get MORE range that it's rated for in driving from Phx, Az to So Cal. (Got less that rated too! 85 mph uphill does bide well for your range!) The huge display, grest sound system, crazy color changing lights, massaging heated & cooled seats & all the tech goodies make this a fun & "interesting" vehicle to own. And the styling (inside & out) speaks for itself. STUNNING!

Best Car I've Ever Driven
Pros

Comfort, Quiet, Handling, Super Cruise

Cons

New model

I waited nearly a year for delivery and had to upgrade to the sport model to get Super Cruise (otherwise wait another three or four months), but it was worth the wait and the extra money. The Lyriq is the quietest, most comfortable and high tech vehicle out there for the price. It is an excellent value. Also, Super Cruise is the semi self-driving BOMB! You get hooked right away and wished you could use it on every road. I've now used it on over a dozen trips of over 150 miles and it takes 95% of the stress out of highway driving. The styling of the Lyriq is breathtaking. It looks like a classy luxury car, not a clunky SUV, but the passenger room inside, including the backseat, is remarkable, as is the very roomy storage area. But don't take my word for it. Do a test drive before buying any other luxury or semi-luxury EV.

Cadillac is confort and luxury
Pros

Confort, luxury, features

It is a very comfortable vehicle to drive, the cabin is very quiet, a very good investment since you have many features from the base version compared to its competitors, good space in the cabin and good range of autonomy, Cadillac developed comfort with the luxury and the best facilities in the same vehicle, I am very happy with my new Cadillac. I did test drives with the Audi Q4, Lexus Rz, Mustang Mach E, Acura ZDX, the Cadillac is better.
