2026 Buick Encore GX Consumer Reviews

would not recommend the Buick Encore GX based on my experience. My vehicle has had repeated problems with rough starting, no-start conditions, and stalling. It has been in the dealership for multiple service visits, and I have spent far too much time dealing with a vehicle that I should be able to depend on. What concerns me most is that I was told the stalling issue is a known Buick problem involving the Automatic Engine Stop Feature, yet I was also told there was no fix and no timeline for a fix. Being told that a safety-related problem is known but there is no solution is extremely frustrating. The vehicle has even been sitting at the dealership while these issues were being addressed. Despite the time, inconvenience, and repeated service visits, I still do not have confidence that this vehicle is reliable or safe to drive. A new vehicle should not leave its owner wondering whether it will start, whether it will stall, or whether the manufacturer has a solution to a known problem.

Perfect all around vehicle for a single or married couple with no children. Excellent gas mileage, handles well in the snow. Turns on a dime and you can park it anywhere.

Buick encore gx avenir 2026 I like the car nice looking car drives good a little crowded in the seats hard to get to the seat belts happy with the fuel milage I don't like the extra thumping road noise that is my thing I don't like maybe it can be dealt with

There is a thumping under the car when driving over a small raised place on the road had this since I bought the car home had it at the dealership for this problem several times they say no problem when they drive the car they don't hear anything out of the order very anointing to me and I am ashamed for someone to ride in a new car with that noise got to be fixed

I’ve had this vehicle for a year now. Second week I had it all my dash went black took it to the dealership they fixed it. I am now currently stationed in Germany. Nowhere to take the vehicle to get it fixed out here. They do not work on Buicks I’ve tried everywhere has less than 26,000 miles on it. Check engine light is on not even the base can fix it. They don’t know how to work on it called Warranty Dept since bought extra warranty unbeknownst to me does not work out here in Germany! They did return partial #Warranty money back to me, which was a big scam. Also, then you didn’t work out here, but yet they still gave it to me! I’m stuck with a vehicle that has a check engine light for the past eight months windshield wipers work, but not the fluid in it for the front windshield apparently it’s on recall all safety. OK when I looked it up but electrical Engineer looked it up and said no it is under recall can catch fire or go black which my panel has gone black already now it’s back up after they fixed it but now I wonder is it safe to even drive can’t trade it in because Germany does not accept vehicles with the check engine light at least not here where I have to go to to look for another vehicle so I’m very disappointed. Had a Buick when I was a teenager, excellent. I recommended this vehicle to my daughter with big regrets now I don’t know what to do with it. When we go back to America, it will not pass inspection because of the check engine light still making payments on it not the Bank‘s fault.! Will not ever buy a Buick again!!

Spent 45 years in the auto service and parts buisness at dealerships. Drove everything. Bought my 2023 St 2 plus years ago, have 41000kms, runs like a dream. Took a trip from Northern Alberta to Charlottetown pei in September, got as high as 5.9 l per 100 kms, in Ontario 90km zone for 3 hrs. Most amazing small vehicle I have ever driven

Overall a great, small SUV. 1.3L turbo engine is surprisingly responsive and gas mileage is great @ 26+ mpg just driving around town. Highway add 3 easily. Takes regular gas as well. Holds plenty of items for 2 people even if back seats are not folded down. Do that you are good to go! I am 6’2”, 190lbs and seating is comfortable. Still haven’t sat in passenger or rear but I am confident they are comfortable.

My wife and I are very pleased with our 2024 Encore GX purchased used w/ only 2500 mi on the clock. The Encore GX is one of the current Buick lineup of 3 small SUVs for about $25k; I suspect these hidden gems are unknown to many Americans. Unfortunately Buick's focus on China has resulted in the Buick brand being all but forgotten in the US. The NHTSA has given a ***** Overall Safety Rating to the 2024 GX. I have one negative with the Encore -- I'm 6'-1" and the Encore is small for me. Some call the cabin "surprisingly roomy" for a sub-compact suv. Truth be said IT'S JUST SMALL. Likes * 1.2L Turbo engine surprisingly strong in city driving * Entry-level luxury at a moderate price * Fun to drive (some call it boring) * Lots and lots and ... of safety features * Excellent mileage (30+ mpg) for an ICE SUV * Sits up high (as a SUV should!) due to 18" wheels * Quiet cabin due to Buick's QuietTuning technology * Heated seats, steering wheel, outside mirrors * Physical buttons/knobs for radio, climate controls -great * Power hatch/liftgate w/ kick plate - very handy * Traction & Stability control Dislikes * 1.2L Turbo engine is somewhat challenged on the highway * Design same-same as every other small SUV on the road * Seats are narrow, hard and uncomfortable * Road noise is worse than expected for a Buick * Small cargo area w/o rear seat backs down * Insufficient legroom in back seats * Insufficient rear headroom for tall persons * AM/FM/Satellite radio difficult to program * VERY sensitive brakes and accelerator
