So, before I tried this suv, I thought bmw cars are too firm to drive, terrible road feel, but great control. However, after my first 1 min test drive, I was sold immediately. The best designed suv for the money. The ride is not firm at all, so refined tuning such that it is very comfortable, but with great handling ability. Power is also very bmw, the the interior design is classic but with technology. Unlike other cars that prefer touch screens all over the place, this x3 knows the boundaries. All I can say about this car is: German technology, german quality. Absolute a joy to drive everyday.
Critical Review
I bought the bmw x3, 3 days ago on dec23, 2018 and the car is giving me a tire pressure monotor malfunction message. As soon as I was driving this new 2019 x3 out of the dealship with 12miles on the vehicle, its started showing the warning sign. No one knows why is this happening. I took the 1 day old car to service center and they reset the tire pressure but again the same warning came up withing 2 miles of driving. I doyknow what to do, but its very disappointing and frustrating. My advise don’t buy bmw x3. Also I cannot understand why a car this high end does not have lumbar support and a push button car needs fob to enter on the car or one buys a 2000 dollar package for this. Bmw is cheating people selling malfunctioning cars and fooling people with addons that should be a part of basic package.

Fun to drive, peppy engine, well made
Interior could be more plush, useful features connected to packages that have nothing to do with that feature
The X3 is fun to drive and the 4-cylinder engine coupled with the 8-speed automatic is spunky. All wheel drive system worked very well while driving in recent snowstorm. Averaging 26 MPG combined. No spare tire as standard tires are run-flat. This worked out recently when a bolt went through one tire and I was able to limp home about 15 miles without changing tire. Interior is not plush by any means but obviously put together with care. Standard stereo is OK. Car has heated seats and full sunroof. The "gotcha" is that even when bought used, BMW supplied the "Connected Drive Package" for free for one year. The list I was given: Spotify, Incremental map update - OTA, Real Time Traffic, BMW Online- News and Weather APP, Traffic Camera Information, Alexa in-Car Speech, Stolen Vehicle Recovery, most of which is taken care of via Apple play or Android Auto. What they do not disclose is that the automatic seat and steering wheel pre-heat function is also part of this package, which makes no sense. My BMW dealer has informed me of a number of customers caught by surprise.

No comfort
The Germans need to improve the comfort of the x3. The front seats are garbage no matter how you adjust them. The stealerships or dealership know this because they do not want you to spend much time in the x3 when you are checking it out. The BMW seat are garbage in all of the models so if you buy one spend a couple of hours just setting in the car at the stealership. Always get a way to return the car if you are not happy with it. Bottom Line BMW is not a comfortable care to drive. The ultimate driving machine is a lie. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON BMW IF YOU WANT SOMETHING COMFORTABLE TO DRIVE.
If you have the opportunity to buy an X3 M40, get one. Amazing driving experience, superb handling, outstanding pick up. If you do a Stage 1 Tune w/ 93 Octane (~$600), you'll push 425 HP- lightning fast! Luxurious ride when it needs to be, speed monster when you want;)
Smart looking and lots of bells and whistles
Cramped back seat
We love the two front seats and all the bells and whistles. However the back seat is another issue. It is very cramped.
Just change oil every 10k miles

This car performance has been great! Good quality smooth driving and good on gas mileage. I love the metallic blue and cream color interior.
performance!!
run flat tires and no dipstick
Wanted to get some miles on the car before rating. It has 31,000 miles on it now. This is my 4th BMW and they have ranged from a Z3, 325Xi, 328i and now the X3 M40i. The X3 has really impressed me performance wise and it can definitely hold its own with my former coyote powered Mustang GT - if not beat it! Plus, its AWD and we can haul 3 more adults or grand kids. The interior and, surprisingly, the engine rumble always draw compliments. It handles with lots of feedback and the ride is solid performance oriented so probably not for those looking for a soft, posh type ride may not be happy probably due to the summer rated Bridgestone run flat tires. I'll be replacing them with 3 season Continental Extreme Contacts and carry a 12 volt air compressor fr backup. We average 20 city/ 32 highway mpg. I love the heads up display that also displays immediate navigation arrows for turns, the dash layout and super comfortable seats. Some minor annoyances are the lack of a dipstick, the downshift paddle hides the the high beam indicator and the rear hatch sensor needs some sort of a snow shield to keep slush from deactivating it. I change engine oil @ 5000 miles rather than the manufacture's 10,000 schedule and always premium fuel.
Good gas mileage, great motor, nice interior, lots of safety features
No front parking camera
Had this car for 2.5 years and have had no issues
2.5 months in my 2022 X3 30i x drive and ready to sell it. I did so much research and test drives and thought this was the perfect upgrade from my 2006 325i 6mt sport. Unfortunately it’s so disappointing. I’m feel like something is wrong with me because it gats so many great reviews. First, it doesn’t drive like a 3 series or like traditional BMW. It feel big and floaty. Engine is good, transmission is ok, not great. It has stupid surges when downshifting during braking. The deal breaker though is the horribly uncomfortable senstech seats causing constant back pain. I still have my old 3series and the seats are so much better. My wife’s 2020 Forester is also so much more comfortable and feels more planted to the road than the X3. Oh yeah, no steering feel at all. On the positive, I love the looks both inside and out. I just wish it was a more enjoyable vehicle to drive.
