Positive Review
My '93 Audi CS 100 Quattro drives like a dream; smooth, quiet, and effortless. All road conditions...wet, snow, gravel...doesn't matter - it's a hummer of a car. Mechanical issues do arise...at 125,000 - replace your fuel pump, alternator, and kiss your hydraulic trunk lifters goodbye. Radio died...not sure why - someone rear ended me and "totalled" it before I could figure it out. Not many out there and so 'replacement value' after an accident is nowhere near it's real value. In the end - great car, sad to see it go to the great wrecking yard in the sky. I'd buy another in a heartbeat if I had the bucks to keep up with the maintenance it deserves.

Does she love it or hate it ? drives like a dream . handles even better corners unbalevable. interior is sweet although the leather is worn. comfortable. tons of complements on the car. very sporty. drives like a millon bucks . becouse thats what the cost to maintain:) something is alway going wrong with it lots of machanical problems (major ones) and very few who know how to fix them well. almost 200.000 miles on it BUT it cost to get it that far . would i buy another ? sad to say yes . but i would never sell one to a freind . a gluton for punishment i guess. so in the end love wins out :)

loved the car
Completely unique car (1,300 total in the US)
Needs 100 horsepower more
It felt as though it was made out of a billet of steel. It was fast but not quick -- you'd never win a drag race, but I did go 1,500 miles cross country in 20 hours without a hiccup. The only mechanical issues were a contrary vacuum system for the door locks and the lower body rubber moldings tended to deform. Even when the ex totaled the car, she wasn't hurt.

The only reason that I wouldn't recommend it to a friend is that I want this car all to myself. Audi V8 Quattros are definitely labors of love. Mine has 205K on the ticker, and I plan on keeping this car forever. Not easy to find parts for, but if you're willing to do the research, then it's completely worth it. This is my fourth Audi, and I have a true love for this vehicle. I purchased it in Rhode Island for 500 and I drove it back to California with no mechanical problems to speak of. It does share the same Audisms that all Audis have, Axles, tie rod ends, bottom end oil leaks, but these niggles are nothing to what it gives back. Insanely stable in ALL road conditions, dry, it's smooth and the power delivery is very linear, in the snow, you can plow through a foot of standing snow and not need to use chains. I also have a 2008 Cadillac CTS, and theres not a single feature that my Caddy has that my Audi doesn't. This car has 4 seat heaters STANDARD and phone STANDARD. This car was sold 18 years ago. Thats astounding. The can have my keys when they pry them from my cold, dead hands. Not anytime sooner.

First, understand the coupe and sedan are vastly different cars -- the coupe comes with an inline 5 cyl, while the sedan has V8 power. I will only address the coupe. I owned a silver over platinum coupe for many years until the ex totaled it. It was possibly the most solid car I have ever owned. Excellent build quality and overall solid reliability. Head room can be a bit tight. (I am 6'3" and my hair would generally touch the ceiling -- more reason to open the sunroof!) The handling is superb and I never lost traction in dry, wet or snowy conditions. However, these cars have quirks and you need a good (dare great) mechanic to keep them humming like they should. The door locks are not electric -- they work off a vacuum system. The stock rims are fantastic -- but they need to be re-clear coated. The only other major hassle was the black trim along the bottom of the doors -- it would discolor and pull away from the body. It's not that they are all that difficult to work on -- you will pay for extra hours if your mechanic doesn't know the unique traits of the cars. Noticeable on the plus side -- great corrosion resistance, the engine while not overly strong does have great reliability. Coupes are not quick off the line but will run all day at high speeds. I once made a trip from Ohio to Colorado in 20 hours averaging 83 mph -- never a hiccup. These cars are extremely rare with only about 1,300 ever coming to the US and in the '90 and '91 model years only. There are a number of parts from the more prominent 80 / 90 series that can be fitted and the drivetrain is the same as those cars, so do not be overly concerned about parts availability as the dealer can still get plenty of parts shipped in from Germany. The car was sold there in infinitely larger numbers and for many more years including S and RS versions. Be more concerned about poor maintenance and previous owners who may have cut into wiring harnesses, trim or body panels trying to customize the cars. Enjoy them and do not send them to the crusher!
this car handles like a dream and curves like one too... do not like the head rests but seats in general are great...love the heat on my back end
