Pandora set to open a bigger box of manufacturer relationships

Earlier this week, the internet radio operation, Pandora, confirmed that Scion has become the latest to join an expanding circle of automakers that now contract to use its personalization programming services and that Ford Motor Company will step up its current involvement by making Pandora available on 10 Ford products and two Lincoln models in the coming year. In addition to Ford/Lincoln and Scion, Pandora already has active in-vehicle integration deals with BMW, Mini and Mercedes-Benz as well as with audio suppliers Alpine Electronic, JVW, Kenwood and Pioneer with Sony to be added to that list in the near future. In making the announcement at the Pandora Analyst Day gathering in San Francisco, the firm’s Executive Vice President of Business Development, Jessica Steel, noted that Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, Hyundai and Toyota also will be integrating Pandora into their future audio systems.
