Barely two months after announcing that it would offer its upline Denali trim on the four-wheel-drive version of the 2011 GMC Sierra 2500 HD pickup, GMC Product Marketing Director, Lisa Hutchinson, confirmed that overwhelming response from customers and dealers has led the division to expand Denali availability to most other Sierra models.
In addition to the original Sierra 2500 HD Crew Cab 4WD model, the division will begin offering Denali trim on both rear-drive and four-wheel drive Crew Cab versions of the Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD full-size pickups. In the case of the latter, one-ton Sierra variant, buyers will be able to opt for the Denali package on both conventional and “dually” configurations and with either the standard or long-box beds.
The Denali difference
Like the initial 2011 GMC Sierra 2500 HD Denali, the expanded lineup will still feature a standard 6.0-liter/360-horsepower Vortec gasoline V8 paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and offer the new 6.6-liter/396-horse Duramax turbodiesel that makes 765 lb.-ft. of torque and is backed by its own six-speed Allison 1000 six-speed autoshifter as an option. Cosmetically, the Denali kit brings a host of unique chrome bits and body-color bumpers to match its Black, Stealth Gray or White exterior. The more plushly appointed cabin features a plethora of upgraded standards, headed by Bose Surround Sound audio, 12-way power front buckets, power-adjustable pedals and brushed-aluminum accents.
