Cadillac announced it is rolling out availability of its Super Cruise hands free cruise control for freeway driving on all its products beginning in 2020. In addition, the technology will be introduced on other GM brands. Cadillac will also be in the forefront of vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2X) communication when it introduces the capability on a high-volume crossover in 2023.

Super Cruise allows for hands-free driving on more than 130,000 miles of limited-access freeways in the U.S. and Canada. A driver attention system sends out alerts when the driver needs to pay more attention to the road. Super Cruise uses Lidar map data, precise GPS and camera and radar sensors to guide the vehicle.
The V2X capability is an extension of the vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) capability introduced in 2017 on the CTS. It uses dedicated short-range communication that can interface with similarly equipped vehicles. The extension of that technology in the V2X application enables communication and recognition of roadway infrastructure as well as cyclists and pedestrians. The V2X enables the vehicle to be informed of road conditions, traffic and traffic light status, work zones and more. Using a range of 1,000 feet, the system enables the driver to be warned earlier of possible dangerous situations.
