Opel has added a new compact crossover SUV to its lineup in the form of the 2018 Opel Grandland X, which bowed at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The new model will also be sold as a Vauxhall in the United Kingdom.
Priced from 23,700 Euro, the Grandland X fits squarely in the rapidly expanding European SUV segment and offers a range of powerplants starting with a 130-horsepoewr 1.2-liter gasoline 4-cylinder engine. A 1.6-liter turbodiesel making 120 horsepower is optional. Opel says it will be adding larger and more powerful engines at a later date. The Grandland X is being offered with a choice of a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, with an 8-speed automatic coming later with the larger powertrains.

Among the standard features on the Grandland X are LED running lights and taillamps, camera-based lane departure warning, speed sign recognition, intelligent cruise control, hill start assist, air conditioning, Bluetooth as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and a 60/40 split rear folding seat.
The 2-row Grandland X offers seating for up to five passengers and includes such amenities as a touchscreen display, optional panoramic sunroof, ergonomic seats, heated steering wheel and heated front and rear seats. The 2018 Opel Grandland X goes on sale in Europe later this year.
