Review Summary

AI summary of user-generated reviews for this vehicle
The vehicle offers a smooth ride, responsive handling, and generous standard features. However, some owners have experienced recurring transmission issues, which appears to be a known problem with certain model years. The manufacturer has addressed this by extending the transmission warranty, but the reliability of the replacement transmissions remains a concern for some. Overall, the product is a well-rounded luxury option, provided the transmission history is carefully reviewed prior to purchase.

Positive Review

"Best car we've ever had."

This car is a prime example of a quality vehicle, built to last and provide a safe and comfortable ride (at any speed.) With only a couple of small parking lot dents and trim that has started to age, my car (at 15 years old and 235,000 miles) looks almost new and has NO Rust (lived its life in OH and MI.) Excellent power from a V6 engine and still gets 30 mpg open road (at a steady 2000 rpm's) and 25 mpg in town driving. In my opinion Acura has not made a better looking, more comfortable riding or more sure-footed car since this body style. Notice how many you still see on the road? Owners don't get rid of them - unless they pass them on to one of their children.

Critical Review

"HAVE SPENT A LOT ON REPAIRS"

HAVE ENJOYED THE CAR, BUT TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPARIED AND DO NOT KNOW IF THE CAR IS WORTH ANY MORE REPAIRS.

KB vs. JD Power

JD Power lists much higher. KBB limits options of the vehicle and does not give a fair market value compared to other companies. This has been so for over three decades.

The Best

We have had a new car almost every year or so until the 2001 Acura came out and I feel in love with it I still have it and it still looks like new because its garage kept. I keep getting offers for it when I'm out and about. I payed about 32, 000 back then and worth it.

Best little car ever

They simply won’t leave you stranded. Very reliable. It’s not too fancy either, they fit in anywhere and design wise they pass the test of time. No complaints

One of the best cars I’ve owned.
Pros

Reliable, comfortable, stylish, and fun to drive.

Cons

Bad clear coat, auto. trans. known to be weak.

I love this car! I’ve been everywhere in it. It hasn’t given me a bit of trouble. Just can’t say enough of how much I enjoy this car. When my wife was alive, she was very happy with it, as well. If I ever get a newer car, I would like to get another Acura TL. That should tell you something.
