"Performance-Quality-Style"

2021 Acura RDX SH-AWD Advanced Package. Excellent performance with SH-AWD. I drive in soft sand at the beach and go up north in mountain snow areas. I need extremely capable off-road ability. Very good agility on the road. High quality vehicle with luxury everywhere. Very comfortable seating. Good cargo space. Extremely stylish looking SUV.

Critical Review

"Avoid, vehicle defective manufacturer wont fix"

Cars infotainment system died, no radio, no hands free calling, no gps etc. I've called Acura 7 total times now, finally heard they know it's a problem and don't have a fix or eta on a fix so in the mean time I'll just have to deal with it (their words), how is this except able for a "luxury" vehicle? Customer service hung up on me twice before i got an answer, most unprofessional group I've had the misfortune to try and contact

Frustrating for the cost
Pros

red leather interior, sporty handling, other creature comforts

Cons

cost, fuel economy, infotainment issues

This vehicle has too many gripes for it to cost as much as it does. The infotainment system is absolute garbage. It's hard to navigate with the touchpad and Android Auto constantly disconnects, even after the known cable warranty replacement I had done on it recently. The fuel economy is terrible. I average about 21-23 mpg consistently, which is well below other similar sized vehicles in its class. The only redeemable qualities of this vehicle trim specifically is the creature comforts for the driver (the advance pkg takes it a step further with a true heads-up display), and the sporty handling of the vehicle which makes it more comfortable to take sharp turns at normal speeds. Other than those 2 things, I'm really not a huge fan of the car and feel like it wasn't worth the cost. I haven't even had it for a year and I am already looking to trade it in for something else.

Great car!
Cons

Infotainment system

this has been a great car for us. Comfortable and drives great. The only negative is the Infotainment center. The touchpad is difficult to use. If Acura would go to a touchscreen like every other luxury SUV I would definitely buy it again.

Diasppointed

We’ve had the RDX for almost five years. It has 54,000 miles. I will never buy another one. The engine automatically shuts itself off too quickly. I drive into the garage and the motor shuts off before I can put it into park. The motor turns back on when I press park, then I turn it off again. You can press a button to turn this feature off, but I often forget. I asked the dealer if it could be disabled, and it can’t. Drives me crazy! Fuel economy and range is poor. I average about 22-23 mpg with a range of about 350 miles. Recently, I started seeing a lot of warning lights going off on the dashboard and no longer have cruise control. The dealer just informed me it will cost about $1,000 to fix, and I didn’t hit anything. You will be better off and pay less money buying a Honda CRV. We had one for several years prior to the RDX with no issues.

not worth it!!!

Great handling - that's it! If you can get by all the unfriendly user problems, it is a great car to drive! The car loves gas - even using high test and paying the price the car barely ever sees over 20 mpg... the ai needs help..if your query is not worded EXACTLY how they require it you have to start over and keep repeating it in different wording, i.e. navigate nearest stop and shop..it will then ask you which one, and do you want to go there now, takes 5 full minutes to get on the road. The touch screen pad is annoying and dangerous while driving and the KICKER...noticed my side mirror lights would not turn off..their reason..car is very sensitive to water and it creates some kind of a short - AND - if keys are located too near the vehicle the lights will not turn off and requires trip to dealership where some part will be replaced or disconnect a wire under the hood! Are you kidding me? This is mt third Acura but definitely my last as I am seriously considering losing money on a trade in and purshasing different manufacturer.

bang for your buck

Well priced, incredible handling, mpg is reasonable for a sporty 4 cylinder turbo that wants to be revved. If you have a heavy foot it will get horrible mpg. But if you drive normally it is fine. I avg 22-25 on back roads and 26-30 on highway. Constant stop and go kills mpg fast. Excellent features even with the base model. I personally enjoy the touchpad more than a touch screen. You get a premium feel with solid reliability, which is often hard to find outside of Lexus which I personally find sleepy to drive compared to the Acura. For what you pay, it's a very solid deal. I got ~9% off MSRP. Very satisfied.

This is it!

I was on the hunt for a reliable car that was both affordable and visually appealing. This car exceeded my expectations and provided everything I desired, plus more. It handles exceptionally well, especially in adverse weather conditions like rain and snow. The car offers weather-specific options that can be activated during your drive for enhanced support. It performs admirably when making sharp or quick turns. The technology inside the car is also impressive. The touchpad may take some time to get used to, but it’s a great feature that prevents fingerprints from smudging the screen. The ambient lighting adds to the overall ambiance. The ride is so smooth that it can be therapeutic, and the comfortable seats contribute to this experience. There’s even a compartment in the front row for storing your purse or bag. There’s so much more to this car that I could write about, but I’ll stop here. I’ve always been a sedan enthusiast, but after driving this SUV, I don’t think I’ll ever go back. I can already envision myself upgrading to another Acura in the future. I have no regrets about my decision. The only regret is not spending a little more and getting this car sooner.

Beautiful and fun car

I have 2004 A-Spec. Pros are amazing suspension & handling (SH-AWD is so good), incredible 3D stereo, ambient light, 19" tires and black wheels, ventilated and heated seats, comfortable seats, power lift gate, lane assist, and a few super cool hidden compartments in the back for storage, groceries, etc. Cons are lack of power (although it's not horrible), sucky gas mileage, & no auto wipers (unless you get Advanced pkg).
