2016 Rolls-Royce Phantom

The Phantom Zenith Collection of Phantom Coupe and Drophead celebrate the end of the Phantoms with bespoke-instrument dials, a special Spirit of Ecstasy figurine, a Tailgate Hosting Area, and armrests laser-edged with depictions of the original launch locations of the two cars. No, we're not making up that last one.

For 2015, Phantoms, minor changes include black brake calipers, LED lighting for the lamps in vanity mirrors and new wheel finishes. In the 2-door Phantom Coupe and Drophead Coupe (convertible), the front seat automatically returns to its position after moving forward to let rear-seat passengers inside.

2008 Rolls-Royce Phantom

The 2008 Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe stands alone as an ultra-luxury four-passenger convertible. Its nearest rival, if there is one, might be the Bentley Azure, which is priced approximately $80,000 lower. The Phantom features novel styling and a much newer chassis platform and engine. Both the Rolls and Bentley have nearly identical horsepower ratings, but the Rolls captures bragging rights by having a V12 as opposed to a V8 under the hood.

About Rolls-Royce Phantom

One could say that the 2016 Rolls-Royce Phantom is the flagship of the entire automotive industry, not just Rolls-Royce. In sedan, coupe or convertible form, there's nothing else that gives its owner the same sense of luxury, indulgence, and opulence as the Phantom. Even in today's world, where everything is "artisanal," the hand-built construction of the Rolls-Royce Phantom would be considered overkill by the most dedicated hipster. With a price that starts at more than $420,000 and skyrockets from there thanks to the Bespoke individualization process, its competition isn't other cars, but condos, yachts, fine jewelry, art...you get the picture. If you find yourself capable of buying one, the V12 engine, exquisite ride and opulent surroundings are like nothing else.

Pros: "See my review above"

Cons: "The absolute fascination with a black exterior and interior!"

"Most people that have rated this car here have never even sat in a Rolls-Royce. I own a Rolls-Royce. A Rolls-Royce is expensive to purchase and expensive to properly maintain, BUT when the vault-like door shuts after you have settled into your seat you have entered another dimension in motoring - a world apart from all those other folks driving around you. Quiet, soft sounds, a world of everything working correctly. Just shifting into drive is a pleasure as you are merely moving an electric switch while soundlessly a little electric motor actually shifts the gears. Yup, the Phantom is worth the money if you truly enjoy driving or being driven in true style and absolute comfort"

"I've had this car for about 6 months and it is an absolute pleasure to drive. People stop and stare, some take photos as I drive by. Smooth ride, great comfort and acceleration, tremendous sound system, not a bad thing to say about this ride."
