Pros

  • Gorgeous styling
  • Standard supercharged V8
  • Athletic handling

Cons

  • Small trunk in convertible
  • Aging technology

What's New?

  • Final model year
  • 75 and R75 editions
  • More standard features

As a faithful spiritual successor to the iconic E-Type, the Jaguar F-Type is old-school in all the right ways. It’s a modern sports car with beautiful, curvy styling, two available body styles, and a standard supercharged V8 engine with an intoxicating exhaust note. Jaguar says 2024 is the final model year for the gas-powered F-Type as it transitions to electric, and this is a proper swan song for the traditional Jaguar sports car.

There’s nothing just like the Jaguar F-Type, but rivals might include premium sports cars like the Chevrolet Corvette and Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman.

What's New for 2024

2024 is the final model year for the Jaguar F-Type as we know it. Jaguar is electrifying its whole lineup, and we’ll likely eventually see an electric sports car, but this is the end of the line for the V8-powered Jag.

Jaguar is commemorating the 75th anniversary of the brand with 75 and R75 models. These are primarily appearance packages, but the R75 is the only version of the F-Type R you can get this year. Also, the 75 has AWD, and the base R-Dynamic trim doesn’t.

Every F-Type has several more standard features, including a panoramic sunroof for the coupe models, heated, memory front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, blind-spot monitoring, and more.

2024 Jaguar F-TYPE Pricing

The Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price for any individual used vehicle can vary greatly according to mileage, condition, location, and other factors, but here's a general idea of what buyers are currently paying for used 2024 Jaguar F-TYPE models when purchasing from a dealership.

For reference, the 2024 Jaguar F-TYPE originally had a starting sticker price of $79,175, with the range-topping F-TYPE P575 R75 Convertible 2D starting at $116,275.

Before buying an F-Type, check the Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price to know what you should really pay. Jaguar F-Type resale value is about average for the segment.

Power, Ride and Handling

The Jaguar F-Type is powered by a 444-horsepower supercharged V8 engine matched with an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear- or all-wheel drive. While many luxury sports cars have been shifting toward fewer cylinders, Jaguar has doubled down on the old-school V8 with a standard supercharger. We’re grateful for this decision. Even though its specs are beaten by some rivals on paper, the V8 in the F-Type has a character and a distinct sound that’s rare in this class.

The more brutish 75R model employs a 575-horsepower version of the same supercharged V8, and it comes standard with AWD. The extra power gives it a blazing 0-60 mph time of just 3.5 seconds, compared to the 4.4-second time you get with the standard configuration. In our book, more power is never a bad thing, but the lower price tag and slightly better fuel economy (with RWD) make a strong case for the almost-as-good base engine.

The ride and handling are what we expect from a premium sports car. The suspension has a good balance of agility and comfort, the steering is precise, and the brakes are responsive. It doesn’t quite float over the road like a similarly priced sedan would, but it has the luxurious comfort of a grand touring car.

Fuel Economy

The RWD variant of the F-Type gets a combined fuel economy rating of 19 mpg. All AWD F-Type models get 18 mpg. Those ratings are similar to the Chevy Corvette Stingray, but the 6-cylinder, automatic variants of the Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman are a little more efficient. More F-Type fuel economy information is available on the EPA’s website.

Premium Interior

The interior of the Jaguar F-Type speaks the car’s language of sporty yet luxurious. Most of us found the two seats comfortable, but some of our taller testers felt a bit cramped. The materials are lovely, but this interior design hasn’t changed much since the car came out in 2014, and it’s starting to show its age.

The infotainment system is also a little dated, but it has the necessary features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a premium sound system, and we’re fond of the configurable Interactive Driver Display digital gauge cluster.

The cargo space is good in the coupe and almost non-existent in the convertible. The coupe boasts 14.4 cubic feet of volume, more than the Chevy Corvette coupe’s two trunks combined. That’s nearly cut in half with the F-Type convertible, which only has a 7.3 cubic-foot trunk. We don’t expect a Jaguar convertible to be a practical grocery-getter, but that’s barely enough space to bring two people’s luggage to the airport.

Stunning Exterior

Designing a spiritual successor to the legendary Jaguar E-Type is a tall order. Still, the gorgeous lines and distinctive light signature of the F-Type make it one of the most aesthetically pleasing cars on the road. The 75 models for 2024 mark the occasion of the brand’s 75th anniversary with unique 20-inch black wheels, black exterior trim, and “75” badging inside and out. The F-Type is available as a fixed-roof coupe or a soft-top convertible.

Our Favorite Features and Tech

75 models
The trims with “75” in the name commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Jaguar brand. Their special appearance package includes unique 20-inch gloss black wheels, black exterior trim, “75” badging, and an exclusive Giola Green paint option.

Available AWD
All but the base R-Dynamic trim of the F-Type have all-wheel drive, helping to distribute the power for a better ride and more responsive acceleration.

Switchable Active Exhaust
The F-Type’s supercharged V8 sings its song through a switchable active exhaust system, so you can make it sound good or great. We can hardly believe that a factory exhaust system in 2024 can sound this good.

Touch Pro infotainment system
This system uses a 10-inch touchscreen and has Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation, and a standard Meridian premium audio system. You also get an Interactive Driver Display, a configurable digital gauge cluster.

Configurable and Adaptive Dynamics
The Adaptive Dynamics feature optimizes comfort and performance in the suspension, and Configurable Dynamics lets the driver customize settings for the suspension, steering, throttle response, and more. Both come standard on the F-Type.

Sport seats
The standard sport seats in the F-Type are finished in ebony leather and suedecloth, and the 75 models have more luxurious Windsor leather seats with Light Oyster stitch. Both seating options are sporty and comfortable.

Engine and Transmission

Every F-Type is powered by a supercharged V8 mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The standard P450 powertrain makes 444 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque. The R75 variant uses the P575 powertrain pumping out 575 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. That extra power is noticeable, especially in straight-line acceleration, but we never got bored with the more affordable P450 powertrain. In this case, the cheaper engine doesn’t come with much compromise.

5-Year/60,000-Mile Warranty

Jaguar’s 5-year/60,000-mile warranty coverage is a bit better than what’s offered by many of its European competitors. Jaguar also throws in the perk of a 5-year/60,000-mile complimentary maintenance plan for scheduled service.

Safety

Standard safety features you get in every Jaguar F-Type include automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, front/rear parking sensors, traffic sign recognition, and more.

2024 Jaguar F-TYPE Safety

Safety Features & Technology

2023 features shown. 2024 may differ.

Forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking

A standard feature in every new F-Type luxury sports car, this system warns drivers of any hazards immediately ahead and applies the brakes if necessary.

Driver fatigue monitoring

Although it’s hard to imagine anyone behind the wheel of a 2023 F-Type being anything less than perky, we are all human and fallible. This standard feature spots signs of fatigue and advises when the driver ought to take a break.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert

This is optional ($550), but a smart call, especially in a convertible version with the roof up when rear three-quarter vision is not so great. Blind-spot monitoring warns drivers of vehicles approaching in adjacent lanes. Rear cross-traffic alert warns drivers of vehicles approaching at right angles while the F-Type is reversing.
