"I've had my 2002 Rodeo Sport for 2 years. I have the V6, 2WD, Auto, Hardtop model. I've put almost 40K miles on it and the only repair it's needed was replacement of the MAF sensor. That repair cost less than $100. It's a dream to drive. My 15 year old has no problem when I'm teaching her to drive. The visibility is excellent, if you remove the rear seat head rests. They block the view out the back window really bad. It's size makes it easy to park, but it rides very well and is very comfortable, even for long periods on the highway. The factory stereo, which is the top of the line in-dash CD changer, doesn't like CD-Rs, but other than that it sounds great. I like the two removable sunroofs, but all that glass makes the inside heat up alot while it's parked in the sun. The rear hard top is removable. I've done it only once. It takes about 20-30 minutes to do it by myself. This is a really good vehicle, and it's the second one I've owned. The first one was totalled when a kid in an F150 turned in front of me on the highway. I hit him almost head-on at about 60 mph, and was almost unhurt. The safety features and the performance in that accident are what made me buy another one. The only thing I would like better would be better gas mileage, but for an SUV it's really not that bad. I get about 21-22 on the highway, and around town about 16-17 mpg. I highly recommend this vehicle. It's a shame Isuzu stopped making it. With it's looks, comfort, performance, and safety, they had a winner."

"I bought my 2002 2WD Hard top rodeo sport in March of 2006. It is the first SUV I have had. All in all, it has been an ok vehicle. I bought it with 20K miles on it and put about 20k more on it in the first year. The car runs fine... my mechanic told me that it has a nissan engine and gm tranny... go figure the biggest problem I've had with it would be the American made Transmission... apparently the transmission developed a leak that could only be detected from underneath the vehicle...the fluid leaked out and wrecked the transmission 54K miles... to the tune of $2000. I'll be honest... it's been fun to drive, the "winter" and "power" drive buttons really do work and have both come in handy. I will agree with other reviews, you do need to either drop the back seat down or remove the rear head rests to improve vision...also it took a while to get used to how the thing breaks...the nose of the truck tends to dive if you get on the breaks too hard. The two doors have been a pain...it's really not built to have back seat passengers. I haven't owned the car long enough to say that it's a great value...I am disappointed to have to put so much money into it with the mileage that it has... but it could just be a fluke thing that happened to mine"
