Pros: "Too many to list!"

Cons: "$4.50 gal diesel."

"A Dodge Cummins isn't without flaws but documentation beats conversation. Mine is 16 years old, 600,000 miles on original engine, 400 hp (with mods) and gets 20 mpg. Yes things wear out and they wear out again but in comparison to payments on a new one this truck is cheep to drive! Things to expect when buying a Dodge Ram; paint is in trouble after 10 years, automatics can't handle the stock power for more than 100,000 miles, front ends on 4X4 models need allot of work all the time, and in manuals the fifth gear may go out but it is an easy fix. The 12 valve Cummins is unstoppable workhorse, if you buy one plan on sinking in a couple of thousand in the truck to make up for the neglect of the previous owner and it won't let you down."

Pros: "best truck ever amazing brakes great handling!"

Cons: "dash cracks, intakes leak cause poor mpg and power"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"truck gets 15mpg everywhere but tows great! will get better mileage when you fix leaking intake pan (see below)brakes amazing! really reliable! I have a firewood business and tow 5500lbs (5x10 trailer and cord and a half of firewoood daily for the last 80k miles and truck never breaks down and hauls safely with no trailer brakes! I love this truck and wish they still made them like this. Common problems: 1. all dash boards fall apart literally...a problem with cheap plastic but throw a dash cover on and no big deal. 2. all have leaking intake seals on bottom of intake. causes loss of power, poor mileage, pinging and oil consumption but fairly inexpensive to install new intake plate kit that solves problem (maybe $300 to have it done) no other issues! they go 200k before clutch replacement and I still havn't had to replace clutch or rear brakes yet towing everyday! I rented a large trailer for a job and filled with concrete and took 10 miles to dump...pretty scary towing it and truck felt at its limit for sure but when I got there they thought their scale was broken and didn't charge me...the truck and trailer weighed 15,000 lbs! I had over 8k lbs of concrete plus 2k trailer! truck is rated at 7k bls towing max! great truck! cheap to repair alt, brakes, etc."

Pros: "Best Dodge Truck Ever, Pre-Daimler influence."

Cons: "None"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Bought this Dodge Ram 1500 Sport Quad-Cab 5.9L Automatic O/D in October, 1999. 367,000mi's later, still driving it. Only items ever repaired have been 1 waterpump and 1 P/S pump that broke in half @ 358,000mi's(Guess it was entited). It is running on average 17mpg city/22mpg highway. It has to be one of my most favorite Mopars since my 1973 Plymouth 'Cuda. This truck has had no problems with engine, engine management, fuel, intake, trans or diff. I do have to credit some of this to the use of BG Products like 44K, MOA, Fuel Injector Clean, Trans Clean, ATF Conditioner, and LS II rear diff. conditioner. This truck still runs its orginial catalytic converter and has no loss of power or fuel mileage. All I can say is that "I Love this Dodge, and This Dodge Loves Me!" Thanks for reading, David C."
