The Forester Black Edition trim package arrives for 2018, bringing darkened aesthetics and paddle shifters, while models with the EyeSight driver-assist package get reverse auto braking and high-beam assist. Touring models receive the EyeSight Driver Assist as standard, with the turbo 2.0XT Touring models also gaining torque vectoring as standard.

2017 Subaru Forester

Turbocharged Forester models get a torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system for better traction, while Forester models with the 2.5-liter engine and CVT get better fuel economy. The EyeSight driver-assist system gets more accurate color cameras, plus blind-spot monitoring is now available, and the interior is both more refined and quieter on the highway.

2016 Subaru Forester

For 2016, the base Subaru Forester 2.5i receives a new 6.2-inch Starlink touch-screen audio unit with single-touch gesture display and satellite radio. Premium, Limited and Touring trims get a larger 7-inch touch screen with multiple-gesture display and the Safety and Security package. EyeSight-equipped models gain steering-responsive fog lights.

About Subaru Forester

The 2018 Subaru Forester is one of over a dozen compact-crossover SUVs vying for your attention, but it's the only one with standard all-wheel drive. That trait has long made Subarus the favored vehicles of cold-weather states, while the Forester's ample ground clearance and ability to venture off-pavement have made it popular with the adventure-minded. Those abilities set it apart from rivals like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, but they're not the only compelling reasons for the Forester. It can be outfitted with a robust suite of safety and driving aids, a turbocharged engine and, on lower models, it's among the last of its kind to offer a manual transmission. With its remarkable resale value, the Forester further stands out from the pack.
