Pros: "Awesome road car, Fun to drive VERY comfortable"

Cons: "Lack of horsepower"

Before the tinted windows.

"When I first drove my 3000GT SL Coupe, I fell in love! 19 years later, I still love it! Mine just turned over 31,000 miles! Yes, that is 31,000 original miles! It is still pretty much new. The factory pearl yellow paint still gleams! I drove it from Denver to Houston. It was a 14 hour trip and I averaged 31 mpg. I never felt tired or got any cramps. The ride is very comfortable. Driving the car is like no other car I have ever driven. It is solid and probably one of the best built cars since the late 60's. My biggest complaint about the car is it's lack of horsepower. It is rated at a low 222hp. It still accelerates decent and loves to cruise at about 80mph. I think that if they had given the car about 100 more horsepower without turbos, it would have been perfect! So with that in mind, I only gave it a 9 out of 10. But if horsepower is not a major concern and you just want a great road car that looks amazing, the 3000GT is the perfect choice!"

Pros: "Acceleration, fun, beautiful, reliable"

Cons: "repairs can be pricey, challenge to work on"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"I own the 1993 twin turbo version, everything stock and original. It's hard to keep a smile from my face. Comfortable leather, beautiful lines and quality everywhere. This is a very fast car. Cornering and acceleration are awesome. It's heavy so it's stable at high speeds. All wheel drive, all wheel steering with limited slip coupling. Who even heard of such a thing in 1993? Love the active spoilers - yes they really do negate lift at high speed. Even by today's standards - it lives up. Repairs are pricy. But if you keep it up, change the oil regularly and don't trash it, you'll have a driving treat for years."

Pros: "Fast, Reliable, Practical, All-Weather car"

Cons: "Hard to honk horn, Reverse hard when cold"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Performance: Nowhere near as fast as a modern Bugatti, but still very fast. I was racing a Nissan 350Z at 70MPH and was going easy on them at first. Then the Nissan was almost in front of me. I gave it lots of throttle, shifted it into 6TH gear and watched the Nissan disappear in the rear view mirror. I could be going 100MPH and let go of the steering wheel without even coming close to losing control. Handling: By far better than any other car I drove. In the snow, the tires do not spin when accelerating. Very responsive steering and brakes. Not only do the front wheels turn when the steering wheel is turned, but the back ones do, too, which makes the car turn corners fast, but very in control. The 4 wheel drive is excellent. Compared to a Mustang Shelby, I prefer this car by far. Not that the Mustang handled poorly, but nowhere near as well as this car. Practicality: Very practical. The back seats fold down to hold a LOT of stuff. It held 1 6-foot folding table, 6 folding chairs, 2 adults, a kid and 4 shopping bags of stuff at the same time. Try that in any other 4 wheel drive coupe that handles that well and is that fast and you will see why I love it so much. Reliability: Never failed to start or was stuck on the side of the road. The only 3 complaints I have are that is hard to shift into Reverse when cold, it is VERY hard and VERY expensive to even find basic parts like brake pads and rotors. I had to spend $1100.00 for just brake pads and rotors since they had to be shipped from Florida. The only other complaint that I have is that the horn only has 2 buttons to honk it on the steering wheel. 140000 miles and counting and it still runs amazing. No fluid leaks. The SL version is not as fast or 4 wheel drive. If you can find the VR-4 version, get it while you still can. Mitsubishi discontinued it in 1999. I hope someone will find this review helpful."
