About Mazda MAZDA3

Anyone who thinks a compact car can't be stylish, fuel-efficient, value-oriented, technologically advanced and a hoot to drive hasn't met the Mazda3. Mazda's small sedan and hatchback are all those things and more. While it has long stood out as the athlete among rivals such as the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus and Hyundai Elantra, the 2016 Mazda3 is hardly a one-trick pony. Yes, it has some of the finest driving dynamics this side of an Audi, but the Mazda also outpaces competitors in efficiency with up to 41 mpg and tech features like radar-based cruise control and automatic emergency braking. The Mazda3 isn't as roomy as a Corolla or Nissan Sentra, but it's a standout in just about every other way.

Pros: "tour rapide zoom, can't believe it's in my garage!"

"purchased 8/15 M3 2015 Hatchback Sport 6 manual- Well equipped for price, HD Radio is a bonus, as well as hill assistance for 1st gear. I bought the bare bones Liquid Silver hatchback, but scored a great deal on an awesome car. I have about 7,500 miles with no problems. I just completed a road round trip from Dallas, TX to Ruidoso Ski Apache, ABQ, Santa-Fe, Angel Fire, New Mexico and the M3 performed great. MPG was ok, about 32 into north winds, 39 with tailwind. Very pleased with the manual 6 speed as I was able to pass other vehicles in 6th gear on the lonely 2 lane hwys of New Mexico with no problems. I traded in a 2008 Jeep Patriot, in which I had done the same road trip in prior years, and this time with the M3 was way better, less fuel stops and a nicer comfortable ride ( road noise was not an issue since i had my tunes on the mp3 aux locked and loaded ). Over all the M3 performed well in the ice and snow ( plowed and treated roads ) as well as on the wide open I-25 I-40 and I-35. I'm very happy with my M3. Zoom to all! :)"

Good value, fun to drive, and practical

Pros: "Gas mileage, fun to drive, preferred package"

Cons: "Rear leg room, foot rest material"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"(2.0L i-Sport hatchback with preferred package) We were looking for a commute car with a relatively larger trunk space. The Mazda 3 hatchback variance is exactly what we were looking for. It is a car with good value, the preferred package brings in the safety equipment we were looking for without adding too much extra and fancy options. Gas mileage is great. I'm averaging about 35 mpg commuting to work now. (About 15 miles away from home, 10% to 15% highway, mostly local with very light traffic) My biggest complaint is the rear leg room. It is very difficult to fit a rear-facing car seat when the front seats are adjusted for an average or even a smaller person. Another complaint is the driver foot rest. It is covered by the same material as the rest of the floor. Dirt gets stuck on it easily and is very difficult to clean. For those who are concerned about the road noise: We tested a few Mazda 3's before purchasing. And we found out the tire brands affected road noise a lot. The one we bought came with Bridgestone tires, which give us acceptable road noise. But other cars we tested came with another brand tires (I forgot brand name), the road noise is relatively harsh. I'd recommend potential buyers check out tire brands if they have concerns about road noise."

Pros: "Exterior styling, comfortable seats, smooth engine"

Cons: "Stock tires could be better"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I am really enjoying my new Mazda 3 2.5L GT. The car not only looks beautiful, it drives very sporty and feels premium. The seats are really comfortable, the car corners like it is on rails and the engine is smooth and responsive. When I put it in sports mode I am like wow that was fun. I love the steering wheel and how the leather feels. Ride is firm but not harsh, and road noise has improved on the 2017 model. After I park the car I look back and smile, it is so cute to look at. Test drive one, I think you will really enjoy it!"
