"2013 bought new - AWD 3.5L twin turbo very responsive. 6th gear comes in a little late at about 62mph. Fit and quality interior/exterior good except mine had a bad right rear door weatherstrip (mostly cosmetic and very easily fixed.) All electrical from Sirius to power doors, locks, windows, 3rd row seat, lift gate, moon roof. Put on 5000 miles in first three weeks - drove from Houston to Cleveland, via Virginia, down to Biloxi, back to Houston. Averaged 23 mpg. Tested all functions including parallel park. On curvy, mountain rods where 18-wheelers are going slow, the adaptive cruise control radar tends to pick up the slower moving trucks on the curves and to brake accordingly - this is described in the manual - would recommend dialing gap down to one bar or turning off."
Pros: "A great sporty ride and lots of room for others."
Cons: "Niggly fit and trim issues."

"It does not look like every other crossover out there. The styling is definitely distinctive. This vehicle is great for short or long distance driving and the fuel mileage is not bad for its configuration. I have towed my Mustang and that works well. A load leveling feature would be good to have. The safety and security of AWD is really reassuring. If you live in snow country be sure to invest in a good set of snow tires as all season tires are not meant for cold weather driving.
We are retired and plan to do a lot of long distance traveling. That was one of the main reasons for buying the MKT. It''s a joy to drive."
