"I bought this car with 5,000 miles on it and now it has over 103,000. Have only done routine maintenance to it. Oil changes, brakes, tires, timing belt, and water pump changed. The car has been very reliable and would not hesitate to buy another Hyundai product!!"
"6 cyl 2.7L gls 90k miles good car, reliable. Power steering unit had to be replaced shortly after purchasing new, covered under the factory warranty, but took 3 trips to the dealer to establish there was an issue with it. Only gave the sonata 3 stars for quality because the paint is cheap & easily chips, the interior dash material is difficult to clean & does not work well with armor all type products & the steering wheel material feels great when new, but degrades quickly leaving the steering wheel looking & feeling tacky. The windshield wipers on the highest speed are sometimes not quite fast enough in a really heavy down pour. The quality of the engine and the reliability I have experienced are very good. I only gave the sonata a 3 for performance. Although the car is actually above average in accelaration out of the gate and handles well, it lacks good passing acceleration at highway speeds. gas mileage averages 20mph overall. The sonata is a sharp looking car that has very good safety features & overall has been a good car for me. I will try to hang on to this sonata & try & get lots of free miles out of it hopefully with little maintenance issues now that it's paid off, although that Cadillac CTS is callin my name....."
"Bought this car brand new in 2004, with the four cylinders banger and automatic tranny, thinking about replacing it after a couple of years when the money situation got better. Still have it after 60000 miles, and our relationship keeps getting stronger. Recently replaced the front axles, (bought 'em rebuilt at $80.00 a pop), and the valve cover gasket. That's it. Haven't even had to replace the remote battery yet. Car runs excellent, does OK mileage, doesn't feel cheapy at all while putting foot to the pedal and steering in narrow roads, a little bit of lagging and oversteer, but easily forgotten when considering I paid at least $5000.00 less than the competition when I bought it. Definitely a keeper."
