The H2's major interior makeover touts a new dash, upgraded seating and an available split-folding full third-row seat. New standard features include rear air conditioning, electronic stability control, head curtain airbags and a new 6.2-liter V8 engine with a six-speed automatic transmission.
It would seem the downturn in large SUV sales has claimed its first victim. With GM stock in a freefall, the manufacturer is looking to sell off the HUMMER line, freeing it to pursue more fuel-efficient models. For those who can afford the fuel, the flagship 2009 HUMMER H2 offers consumers a capable off-road mini-tank with enough visual appeal to satisfy the most egregious attention hound. Truth be told, the H2 is not terribly roomy, nor does it offer much in the way of cargo space, especially with the optional third-row seat in place. If you're looking for a big SUV that is comfortable, roomy and far less fuel-thirsty, you'd be better served with the new Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid or GMC Yukon Hybrid.
