Changes for 2013 are limited to two new exterior colors and the addition of powertrain grade-braking that uses transmission downshifting to ease stress and temperature build-up on the brake rotors.

For 2012, Chevrolet gives the Silverado full-size pickup a refreshed front end, available heated/cooling seats for the LTZ, and a new White Diamond Edition. Also new is an available navigation radio with built-in hard drive that eliminates the need for map data stored on DVDs.

About Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab

The 2016 Chevrolet Silverado looks like a brand-new truck, two years after it actually was redesigned. The new grille, headlights, hood and taillights break away from the handsome-but-bland styling of the past couple of years and give the new Silverado the double-take good looks it has needed. But there's more under the skin in the form of an 8-speed automatic transmission, now available with the 5.3-liter V8 engine for the first time. Apple's excellent new CarPlay iPhone integration is now available as well, along with a host of smaller refinements. Put it together, and the Silverado sharpens its edge against hot competitors like the Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and of course its biggest cross-town rival, the Ford F-150.

"Truck has been in for warranty work 12 times since purchase in October 2013. The list entails: Leaking antenna into cabin compartment, heater element on driver seat replaced twice, front rotors replaced/turned twice due to unusual grooving, needed update on transmission due to "clunking", rear window motor needed to be replaced, rear seat belt replaced due to tech removing rear seats, navigation system is unpredictable as to settings, the undercarriage looks like a vehicle that is 10 years old and rusting (GM said that a "few" vehicles needed a respray of the under carriage" and that the truck will be in body shop for 1 week. I have owned several Silverado's over the years and have always treated them like a truck. I would never treat this vehicle as a truck. Will be trading this lemon in for something other than a Chevy very soon. Spent too much money on a spray bed and retractable cover for this very expensive truck. ($52,000) Buyer beware."

"Great truck. Has the typical handsome GM exterior & gorgeous interior. Ride quality is very good for a 4wd truck. It's more ergonomically friendly over the previous generation."

"I traded in a 2013 F150 XLT SCREW Ecoboost for this truck. The Ford only had 3800 miles on it. Road like a brick and had a vibration that 4 trips back to the dealer could not fix. The 5.3 is no Ecoboost in the power department but is adequate and gets better gas mileage. The RAM is a nice truck but don't forget that the plugs are only good for 30K miles which is pretty pathetic considering GM has had 100K sparkplug changes since 1996."
