"I owned one from being new. After 180000 miles and seven years driving it in Europe up and down the autobahn, I was extremley happy about the low maintenance and duribility and the fact it still doesnt burn oil. Never broke once. Needs front brakes replaced often(20000miles) and the seat recline handles on both sides broke early in the life of the truck. Of course the door hinges wear quick at the pin bushings, typical GM problem that they never seemed to fix over many years and models. My transmission started to wear out after 160000 but still hasnt failed yet. Radiator leaked at 179000, I keep records. But other than that nothing, still has original sarter, generator, AC compressor, the clutch is wearing but compared to the overall life of the vehicle it has been excellent. I just returned to the states and it gets it first real overhaul soon."

"After warranty runs out, look out. Over 1500 spent in two months because service engine light stays on. Now after another two months the light is on again. I fear going to get it fixed for another 700 to 800. Don't buy these GM junks."

"I got this 1996 S10 vehicle new. One hundred and sixty thousand miles later, the biggest problem I have had with it is that everyone tries to steal it, so I have multiple layers of security on it. It was stolen once recently even with the alarm and club on it. It has style, and the older it gets, the more people love it. The third door is awesome. I find that the 4 cyl. engine lacks power, but it still is a smooth ride on the road. Many cross country trips. The cruise control is reliable & awesome as well. I have had many repairs, of course, along the way, but nothing that was outside of the range of normal usage for that many miles."
