Our 10 Favorite New-for-2017 Cars

The 2017 model year brought us more than 50 brand-new and redesigned cars, trucks and SUVs, and we’ve now driven just about every one of them. These are our 10 favorites.

“The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is available with the widest variety of high-tech options you can get in any minivan, period.” And that’s just one of the reasons we named it our Minivan Best Buy of 2017.

“It feels very good to be able to sit high in the F-Pace's driver's seat and confidently aim that bulging hood down the road.” Our full review of Jaguar’s first SUV makes it clear this is among the most fun-to-drive SUVs on the planet. Read more

“More powerful, more capable, more technically advanced and more attractive in a take-no-prisoners sort of way, the 2017 Raptor significantly expands on the all-around awesomeness of its predecessor.” That pretty well summarizes our review of the second-gen Raptor. Read more

“Simply put, the new Chevy Bolt EV is the most compelling pure electric vehicle produced to date. “It’s the new A4’s even stronger sense of technology -- most notably a configurable dash that links the center touchscreen with a large instrument display in front of the driver, a setup Audi calls “virtual cockpit” -- that really cements the experience as something special.” That’s just a sampling of praise for our Luxury Car Best Buy of 2017.

The all-new CR-V topped our most recent list of 10 Best SUVs Under $25,000, and we also named it one of our 12 Best Family Cars of 2017. These promise to be the first of many awards to come for this perennial all-star.

“Acura’s Sport Hybrid AWD system supplies 573 horsepower to this mid-engine coupe making it brilliantly responsive and blisteringly quick on the street or on a racing circuit. Designed and built in America, the new Acura NSX serves as the division’s halo vehicle and directly challenges key rivals like the Audi R8 V10+ and Porsche 911 Turbo.” The NSX’s six-figure attainability factor is one of the only things that kept it from topping this list. “The enhanced dynamic sophistication, stunning interior redesign and augmented driver assists offered on the all-new E-Class arguably qualify it as the safest, smartest and most accommodating offering on the midsize-luxury scene today.” Luxury and technology have never played so well together.
