2010 Cadillac SRX Pricing to Start at $34,155

Due in dealers next month, the all-new Cadillac SRX gets a new look, new size, new design and a very attractive new price that will see the entry-level version open at $34,155 including destination. That figure undercuts the current SRX by more than $7,100; and more importantly should help it carve out an even wider slice out of the mid-size premium crossover market where it will take on rivals like the Acura MDX, BMW X3/X5 and Lexus RX Series. In sharp contrast to its 2009 namesake, which features conventional sport utility styling and is built on GM's rear-drive Sigma platform, the upcoming SRX has a much more aerodynamic shape and is based on GM's unit-body "TE" Global Compact Crossover Architecture that also underpins the Saturn Vue. While its overall scale and wheelbase dimensions have shrunk a bit -- the new SRX dispenses with the virtually unusable third-row seating of the current vehicle -- this new Cadillac hauler boasts even more premium touches and a more refined driving character. Available in front- or all-wheel drive configurations, the 2010 SRX will offer the buyers choice of two V6s: a naturally aspirated 265-horsepower, 3.0-liter and a 2.8-liter turbocharged upgrade that makes 300 horsepower.
