We hate to sound cliché, but all good things must eventually come to an end. Especially good things like a 9,000 rpm redline, 50:50 weight distribution and a 2.2-liter engine that pumped out over 100 horsepower per liter. The Honda S2000 had all of these, and we're sad to hear that after the current 2009 model year, it will no longer be produced. This roadster first appeared in 1999 for the 2000 model year, offering racecar agility and a responsive high-revving 2.0-liter engine that was later reworked to displace 2.2-liters. Minor tweaks were done through the years -- with a club racer trim offered in 2008 -- but its platform and purpose remained the largely the same: to provide a true sports car experience on the street and the track. Hopefully we'll see another sports car offering from Honda, but until then, rest in peace S2000. We'll certainly miss you.
