Subaru Impreza Sedan Concept unveiled

Pointing the way towards styling themes we'll see in the next-generation Impreza 4-door as well as in other future models from the company, the Subaru Impreza Sedan Concept was revealed in Los Angeles. Like the Impreza 5-door Concept that debuted last month in Tokyo, the Sedan design study displays the same basic Wide & Low theme and expressive body contours. Slightly longer and wider than the 5-door, the two vehicles share an identical 105.1 inch wheelbase and ride on 19-inch 235/40 rubber tucked inside prominently flared fenders.

Finished in Ruby Red Metallic set off with gloss black accents, the Impreza Sedan Concept bookends its sleek profile and distinctive character lines with equally dramatic fascia treatments intended to create solid, 3D forms. Up front, the latest take on Subaru's signature hexagonal grille is flanked by LED "hawk-eye" headlamps while the crisply drawn tail is set off with combination lamps that have a similar C-shaped theme.

Although Subaru has yet to reveal any details about the interior of the Impreza Sedan Concept, expect it to reflect a more contemporary character and be filled with more advanced comfort/convenience and driver-assist touches. No word yet on powertrain choices either, although you can bank on seeing a 4-cylinder boxer in the engine bay and power still being sent to all four wheels.
