After recently driving nearly 1,000 miles in the Avalon Limited, we can say with confidence that it is a bona-fide road trip warrior. Why? To start, the Avalon's 268-hp V6 coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission was so effortless that the vehicle seemed to just float down the highway. Our lower halves really appreciated the comfortable and supportive seats, while our eyes were able to stay focused on the road ahead thanks in part to steering wheel-mounted climate controls. And with the aid of cruise control, we were able to see an impressive 28.4 mpg on the highway, slightly higher than the EPA estimate of 28.
