Porsche Digital GmbH: Exploring future mobility
Porsche AG has established Porsche Digital GmbH, a group charged with ensuring the automaker becomes “the leading provider of digital mobility solutions in the premium automotive segment.” Headquartered in Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart, the operation will have affiliated offices in Berlin and China as well as in Silicon Valley, with the latter being a formal subsidiary of Porsche Cars North America, Inc.
Responding to a dramatically changing business environment, Wolfgang Porsche, Supervisory Board chairman Porsche AG says the Digital GmbH effort will “strengthen the brand, develop innovative customer experiences, and attract new partners.” Its prime functions are identifying, evaluating and ultimately developing new trends and related technologies and products. Porsche Digital GmbH will supplement its own expertise using strategic long-term affiliations with outside firms, particularly in the areas of connectivity, smart mobility and autonomous vehicles.
"Porsche Digital GmbH is our Competence Center where visions are turned into reality," noted Porsche CEO Oliver Blume. The subsidiary's new managing director Thilo Koslowski echoed Blume’s sentiments, observing: "We will create digital customer experiences typical of Porsche which are fascinating and intelligent – both inside and outside the vehicle."
