Previewing a production vehicle at the 2012 Paris Auto Show that will be hitting showrooms in France, China and Brazil next year, the Peugeot 2008 Concept is a stylish, city-oriented crossover that takes the design idiom one small step beyond the Urban Crossover Concept the automaker showed in Beijing last April. Also based on the firm's existing 208 model platform, Peugeot described its latest exercise as "a small vehicle combining agility, compactness, versatility and striking style for young-minded city dwellers who love the city, while also loving to escape from it."

Key visual differences between the Peugeot 2008 Concept and the Urban Crossover Concept center on its new, high-profile fluorescent yellow exterior enhanced with Velvet matte varnish and set off by Dark Chrome and black trim elements.

The Peugeot 2008 Concept gets its super-efficient motivation from a new-gen 1.2-liter/3-cylinder turbocharged/direct-injected gasoline engine. Making 110 horsepower, Peugeot says it will offer a breakthrough in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, although it provided no further specifics in either area.
