Nissan Gives its 2010 Rogue a Splash of Krom
Expanding the profile-raising efforts it began with the original Krom Edition of the cube, Nissan is adding a similar measure of well-calculated flash to the 2010 version of its compact Rogue crossover. Based on the Rogue S model -- in either front- or all-wheel drive -- the new Krom Edition boasts a revised front fascia treatment with a unique grille insert and integrated fog lamps, body-color side mirrors, rear privacy glass, body-color rear spoiler, and a center-exit sport-tuned exhaust set off by custom 17-inch brilliant-finish aluminum wheels wrapped in 255/60 Continental Conti 4x4 all season tires. Inside, the Krom-spec Rogue is considerably more understated than its cube counterpart, holding the roster of changes to the addition of standard steering-wheel audio controls. Arriving at Nissan dealers in December, the Rogue Krom Edition will be available in three exterior colors: Venom Red, Wicked Black and Gotham Gray.
Like the cube Krom, this latest twist on the Rogue formula was conceived at developed by Nissan's Specialty Vehicles Group headquartered at the firm's U.S. home base in Franklin, Tennessee. SVG director Pat Steiner sees an expanding role for the organization dedicated to imparting a distinctly self-expressive sense of style located here as a tangible advantage. "We leverage our speed and flexibility in bringing exciting new products to market, faster and for less than 'mainstream' models. Just as our NISMO models add enhanced performance straight from the factory, the Krom lineup offers intriguing, customized design right off the showroom floor." No word yet on what Nissan model will be next in line to get the Krom treatment -- nor on pricing details on the new Rogue Krom Edition.
