Mitsubishi teases new global small car -will arrive here by 2013

Offering the first peek at a car it intends to sell worldwide, Mitsubishi has released sketches of a vehicle it will start building sometime in March 2012 at a new facility now under construction in Thailand. Currently dubbed "global small," this new front-drive model will be built on an entirely new platform and powered by engines having from 1.0 to 1.2 liters of displacement. It's design will allow the car to be positioned as an entry-level model that can be custom tailored/appointed to both emerging market countries as well as advanced nations. The new plant will be able to turn out approximately 150,000 units in its first year and have the capacity to be expanded to make up to 200,000 of these new global small cars should demand require.
