Mini sets new Guinness mark for parking prowess

Fancy yourself a hot-shot when it comes to parallel parking? Perhaps it's time to think again. A recent promotional effort to launch a new Mini Hardtop variant - number 6,347,735 by our count - in China led to a new Guinness World Record for exactly that purpose not to mention a great bit of ultimate car control video. The mission for this Mini special edition, officially dubbed "The Chinese Job," was to literally be slid into the smallest possible parking space without destroying the adjacent vehicles.

Two professional stunt drivers who were quite adroit at handbrake-turn maneuvers set out to vie for this singular honor. When the rubber dust finally settled, Han Yue proved to be the best of these talented gap shooters, slipping the Mini into a slot just 15cm - about 5.9 inches - longer than the actual length of the vehicle itself!
