From the first day it arrived at the Kelley Blue Book offices more than a year ago, our long-term MINI Cooper S won us over with its fun nature, cool looks and excellent fuel economy. With a healthy mix of city, freeway and long-distance driving we racked up more than 12,000 miles on the odometer during our year with the MINI. The experience was mostly positive with only a few inconveniences intruding on our fun. Design issues including fragile cup holders and a confusing dash layout were persistent but minor annoyances. The only big problem occurred when the MINI refused to start, leaving one kbb editor stranded far from home. In light of all its positives, however, we're willing to overlook some of the Cooper's negative qualities. Now that our Cooper has returned to its rightful owners at MINI USA we are starting to notice its absence in our long-term fleet. Maybe a long-term MINI Cooper Clubman
would help ease the pain. Watch the video below to see what it was like to live for a year with a MINI Cooper S.
